Its so super important to remember that when Running for Office you have to Market yourself and do it well. Today is the Voting Day at University of Arkansas for ASG-Associated Student Government. How did I know? Well one of the Candidates is on campus promoting how and where to vote, his name on cups and just being the nicest guy. He (Jonathan W.) was on campus bright and early with Cups and a Smile.

It just goes to prove that Relationships are VITAL when voting. Yes the issues are important, but Im sure that the issues on campus are not as pressing as a City/State/ Federal Level. Yet I will say that knowing a person and their personality is a big swing when getting a voter.

A like-able Canidate can potentailly win more votes then a person who is well educated on the issues. Yes it is all Politics and Marketing.

Remember To Vote: vote.uark.edu

In school we are taught that failure is the absolute worst ever. Yet if You fail and learn something then is it failure?

One thing in business or life that we should learn is that Failure can be a BLESSING! It can be that one thing that pushes us to do better. It can cause us to re-examine how we got ourselves there in the first place. It can also be the one thing that causes us to re-evaluate our passion.

If we are doing anything for the wrong reasons then maybe failure was inevitable. Yet if we are truly passionate and with pure intentions then our persistence will pay off.

So the next time you loose a client, miss a deadline, fail a test, or fail at a relationship take the time to Get Up, “wipe that dirt off your shoulders” and truly learn from your mistake.

Remember: “We All Fail, Its how we Recover that separates us from everyone else. “

Everything is Electronic now days but let me say Networking is the best first impression, but if that isn’t your cup of tea then here are a few online resources.

1st What does your resume look like? I hope that you have done your research and perfected your resume. You should ask professionals to review it and see if they have any suggestions. In fact while your doing that you might just run into a job/job offer.

2nd Just a little known fact, only about 10 to 15% of jobs are online or in the news paper. The others you have to GO OUT AND LOOK FOR! So become a Job Seeker!

3rd Be organized about how your looking for a job. If you make a list of who you have applied for then you can be sure to follow up. Follow up is vital not a huge % of people follow up on sending out their resumes. This also helps you stay on track

4th Make sure you are looking at the right resources online. Career Builder, the ladders and Monster are not RELIABLE. Don’t waste your time. You have a better chance of scoring a job in the newspaper wanted adds. What is a reliable resource? InDeed, Twitter ( yes get on twitter!), Linkedin, Simply Hired and if your looking for a PT job then Snag-a-Job. This info is great for Job Seekers and for Employers.

5th DONT GIVE UP! On those days that you have tried and tried you need to take a break and re-group. Make sure you are not getting to emotionally worn down in this process or it may come across as desperate in an interview.

6th WHICH is our last and great thought! I know you need to make money and trying to find a job can be rough, but realize that other people might have it worse. SO give back. Find a local non-profit and give back. You might find a job, a resource or a great reference for .

Have more tips? Add them to our Comments! Thanks.

I do hope your on Twitter! Its great for Business and getting to know whats going on in your community and the world. If your not on then do some research on this Micro-Blogging craze.

If you are on Twitter then here are some Twitter Do’s and Don’t s

DO Follow People from your area. Its so great to keep in touch with local Non-Profits, Events, Weather and News.

DON’T Just follow Anyone. It will cause you to not want to check on your twitter as much and it possibly encourages SPAM on Twitter.

DO Update. If you can at lease update once a day it will be a better way to be involved in your twitter Community.

DON’T Twitter CONSTANTLY! The tip I give most people is not to Twitter more then 10times in an hour.

DO contribute! When you find a helpful Blog/Link/News its a great contribution to the Twitter community! I enjoy seeing twitters about local non-profits in need and seeing what I can do to help.

DON’T over Contribute. This means don’t tell me that your in the bathroom or other inappropriate things. Twitter is a Business type of Micro-blog so keep it clean.
Have more Tips for me or want to add to the list! Then PLEASE comment! Thanks!

While dinning at Red Lobster today I had noticed that they had completely revamped their restaurant. Just a few observations:

1. They have a cleaner look, not a lot of nick-nacks and decor to make it look cluttered anymore. Its very simple and clean.

2.The other thing that they have changed the menu. They now have a lunch menu that his shorter, a little cheaper. Yet it insures that that more people can come in for lunch and get in and out quickly.

3. The other thing that really caught my EAR is that they call their servers “Sea Food Experts”. I would sure like to know how you feel about this term. Do you think they are true experts? Have they had formal training?

Let me know how you feel about this and have you had a great experience with Red Lobster?
